Fillings

The numbness should
last about 2-3 hours. Your child shouldn't chew while the area is
numb, but can drink or eat soft foods (milkshakes, ice cream,
soup, etc.)

If your child should
experience any soreness, you may give Tylenol or children's
Ibuprophen.

Fillings may be
sensitive for several days after placement. If this sensitivity
persists, please call our office.
Stainless Steel Crowns

The numbness should
last about 2-3 hours. Your child shouldn't chew, but can drink.

For soreness over the
next day or two, you may give your child Tylenol. If soreness
persists, please call our office.

Your child should keep
the area along the gum-line clean. He or she may need help with
brushing for 2-3 days.

Your child should
avoid sticky, chewy candy; this is very important with stainless
steel crowns. (Example - Jolly Ranchers, Now and Later's,
Starbursts).

Extractions

The numbness should

Your child will be
biting on gauze and should continue to for at least 10 minutes.

You may give Tylenol
as needed.

Your child should only
have soft foods for today.

If permanent teeth are
extracted, please avoid carbonated drinks and straws for the rest
of today. (Example: Coke, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, etc.).
